Continued Growth

In January of 2013, the school enrolled 210, 90 OVCs and 120 fee-paying students. Many of the fee-paying students were day students in the lower classes, as the fully supported students lived at the school – a policy that continues to the present. The number of fully sponsored students was (and is) limited by the funds raised largely in the USA to support them. In February of 2013, a new two-story classroom building was completed. This building contains the first NMS library. In November of 2013, the Nambale Magnet School participated in the 4th grade district exams for the second time. This time they score second out of 54 schools. A female NMS student earned the highest score out of 2838 candidates.

Academic Excellence

The school continued to grow and add students. In January of 2016, the eighth academic year began with 337 students, 125 fully sponsored and 212 fee-paying students. That November the first class of eighth-grader graduates, called the "Pioneers", had the top two scorers in the district on the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam for Kenyan students. Both of these students were fully sponsored learners who had been at the Nambale Magnet School since they were four years old. They were then accepted as fully sponsored scholarship students at one of the top prep schools in Nairobi. Every single member of this class was accepted to and began High School in January of 2017. This has continued to be the case in each subsequent year as well.

NMS continued to build upon its strengths. It acquired more computers to help the students with online learning and converting one room into a computer lab. It has continued to build more classroom space as the number of students has increased. A separate girls' dormitory building has been constructed. The students continue to be involved in agricultural activities. This helps students with practical mathematics, time management, and gives them an investment in the life of the school as a whole. No student is exempt.
