Keeping the Children Safe and On Task

May 15, 2020 - As the Coronavirus is shutting down Kenya as a whole, the number of cases continue to climb and are now spiking in the Nambale region.  Despite this, the staff of the Nambale Magnet School are working hard to keep the children safe and on task. Coronavirus and the Nambale Magnet School

April 1, 2020 - Late in March, on the Government's directive, the last of the students at the Nambale Magnet School were sent home. NMS Takes Precaution Against the Coronavirus Threat

March 17, 2020 - Since the Coronavirus started making headlines, the Nambale Magnet School has been vigilant about the threat. Our School nurse took the NMS staff through an exercise of mitigating the threat of COVID-19; she emphasized regular hand washing, sanitizing all places, distancing self and created awareness of what to do in the event of a suspected case. Yesterday, following the Government's directive, we released all learners to go back home for a period yet to be announced. Sat Nam Foundation Provides Solar Enery for School

September 6, 2019 - A group representing the Sat Nam Foundation performed a week of fellowship and service at NMS. Through their fund raising efforts, they were able to raise enough to supply the school with a solar energy system that will be constructed in early 2020. This is an ecological win and will bring operating costs down significantly while offering a more reliable source of electricity ... Celebrating 10 Years!

It's the School's 10 year anniversary and the event was commemorated by a walk through the streets of Nambale. Rotary International Grant Application Accepted!

July 13, 2018 - Rotary International Grant Allows for Construction of Full Cycle Water System and Waste to Fuel Biodigester. The Nambale Magnet School will soon start the implementation of a full cycle water system thanks to a grant request funded by Rotary International. [ more ]

New Sewing Lab, More Sustainability for the School

August 16, 2017 -  With the generous donation of sewing machines, a sewing lab has been added to the Nambale Magnet School. Now instead of purchasing mosquito nets for beds and uniforms, the school has the capability of making their own. As with the farm, the sewing lab also offers the children an additional learning opportunity. A plan is set in motion to offer sewing lessons to the curriculum for those who are interested. Sports Day 2017 at the Nambale Magnet School

July 26, 2017 - Once a year, the Nambale Magnet School has a tradition of holding a sports day for the learners on either the last Saturday of June or first Saturday of July. Nambale Magnet School’s Top Graduating Students in High School

July 6, 2017 - Some of our recent graduates are now in High School busy doing amazing things. Alpha and Jackson in the same school and were our top two learners in last year's KCPE results. Both Alpha and Jackson are doing very well. Alpha recently attended a mentoring program for a week organized by the First Lady in Kenya. NMS Students National Test Scores Among Highest in the Busia District

December 1, 2016 - The Nambale Magnet School topped the Busia District in the Eighth grade National Test! The highest score was 421. There were 6 students with over 400 marks, 12 with 350 marks and above, the mean score is 361.9!
